“[…] Many teachers need to be educated on how to access authentic multicultural children’s books and the importance of doing so in a classroom. It is also important to help educators realize that multicultural children’s literature should be used for subjects beyond cultural heritage months or social studies. In order to aid this endeavor, I have created a list of 21 multicultural picture books that would help develop cultural empowerment and cross-cultural empathy within a classroom.”
